WHEN: Saturday, Octber 5th 2019 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
WHAT TIME IS CHECK-IN: Check in will take place starting at 9am.
WHAT IS THE COST?: $40
WHERE: UCF Venue located at the back of the CFE Arena on campus. 12777 Gemini Blvd. N. Orlando, 32816
WHO WILL TEACH THE CAMP? The camp will be taught by current and former UCF KnightMoves Dance Team members and coaching staff.
WHAT WILL THEY LEARN? The clinic is designed for Middle School, High School and College age teams and/or individuals ages 13 and UP. Dancers will learn the UCF Fight Song, learn a 1-minute routine that can be used for games (perfect for TEAMS) and we will do technique. The UCF tryout process will also be reviewed and there will be small group opportunities to ask questions regarding the program, tryouts, the University and the admission process. Campers will have the chance to learn from and interact with one of the best Division IA college dance teams in the state. We will provide information and tips that can help you through the college tryout process. This is more than just a dance lesson/class. It is your opportunity to have our coaches and staff observe and critique your skills and for you to meet the team and learn about our program. This is a great way to prepare for any college dance tryouts.
WHAT ARE THE AGE REQUIREMENTS TO ATTEND THE CAMP? Middle School, High School and College age students are welcome! Not appropriate for most elementary ages.
CAN PARENTS OR COACHES STAY AND WATCH? Team coaches are welcome but unfortunately, the gym does not accommodate enough room for spectators. We do encourage parents and friends to return for the last 30 minutes if they would like.
CLINIC T-SHIRTS? Camp T shirts are available for purchase at a cost of $15 on the day of the Clinic.
WHAT ABOUT PARKING ON CAMPUS? We recommend that you park in the D parking garage. There is typically no ticketing on the weekends starting at 5pm. on Friday.
PLEASE MAKE US AWARE IF YOU /YOUR CHILD HAS ANY PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS. Our trainer will be at registration.
WHAT SHOULD YOU WEAR? Form fitting attire, jazz shoes (or dance paws) and tennis shoes. Remember that coaches may be getting their first impression of you so you should be neatly groomed.
IF I HAVE ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS? One week prior to the clinic a welcome email will be sent with any updated details regarding the camp. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us at Spirit@athletics.ucf.edu or call the office 407-823-2143.
